HAMILTON, ON-The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed non-import wide receiver Dave Stala while releasing fellow wideout Chad Rempel.
Stala was born in Poland and grew up in Hamilton. He was an AUS All-Star while he was a St. Mary's Huskie. While doubling as a K/P and WR.
General manager Bob O'Billovich said of the signing, "''We're excited to add an experienced Canadian player like Dave to our offence. He brings a tremendous amount of versatility to our team as he's an accomplished kicker and punter as well as an outstanding receiver.”
In 2003, he was a sixth round draft pick of the Montreal Alouettes. He got 145 receptions for 1,852 yards.
Rempel who came out of Saskatchewan was never a big part of the TiCats offense.
Over four years he caught eight passes, for 118 yards recording no touchdowns.
